METALLIC SCREENS

Due to the their top quality performance combined with low initial cost, the METALLIC SCREENS are widely used in Miners, Stone-quarries or in any situation when either sieving, classifying or separation of a certain material of two or more categories is needed.

Usually, the abrasion resistance is what defines a metallic screen of good quality, as in the majority of sieving processes, the metallic screens also undergo the most severe working conditions, where it is important that the screen be made of material of chemical and physical characteristics to resist such conditions.

The VIBROTEX metallic screens are specially recommended for situations where the conditions are diverse, as they are made of VIBROLOY steel specially developed through analyses, field and laboratory tests. It has a high carbon content, high hardness and excellent tenacity, besides special thermo treatment, qualities that define it as the ideal steel for metallic screens.

In addition to VIBROLOY steel, VIBROTEX also manufactures, according to working needs, stainless steel screens, brass and special alloys while always using top quality material.

For the best performance, the Metallic screens, besides good quality steel, also need a weave with the characteristics and depths that guarantee rigid screens and regular meshes.

TYPES OF WEAVE FOR SQUARE MESHES:

VIBRO TYPE WEAVE (VB) is the most common type of weave generally used in small mesh screens or when the wire diameter is big in relation to mesh opening.

DOVEX TYPE WEAVE (DX) in this type of weave, the working surface is flat, thereby reducing the material friction to be sieved on the screen as well as reaching at least 50% more durability than the other weaves. It also guarantees consistency of mesh openings for the whole useful life of the screen.

DOPRA TYPE WEAVE (DP) This type of weave is recommended for screens where the wires are fine in comparison to mesh opening as its characteristics guarantee the fit of the wires in a defined position during the screens’ lifetime.

WEDRA TYPE WEAVE (WR) The wires in this type of weave are multi-waved and are crossed at every third or fifth waving. Generally used in very light screens.

OF RETANGULAR MESH

With characteristics that allow an increase of 10% to 50% more open area than the square mesh they substitute. They are generally used to classify cubic and round shape materials, and because of its shape, in some situations they avoid blockage of the meshes.

It is important to stress that the rectangular mesh, when used to substitute the square mesh sieved ones, can show changes in the sieved material as described as follows:

A) Bigger mesh perpendicular to the flow of the material on the sieve: increases production, reduces blockage, but reduces the granulometric quality of the classified material.

B) Bigger mesh parallel to the flow of the material on the sieve: increases production even more than the item A, reduces blockage, but reduces the granulometric quality of the classified material even more.
