The WEDGE WIRE-type filters and screens manufactured through trapezoidal profiles were originally developed for screens and classification in the carbon industry.
Due to its versatility, the possibility of making different types and shapes with varied openings were also checked.

This contributed to this type of screen becoming recognized world-widely, as also ideal for applications in the sectors of: MINING; CHEMICAL; FOOD; PAPER AND CELLULOSE; BASIC SANITATION; FRIGORIFICAL; SUGAR AND ALCOHOL MILL; ARTESIAN WELLS, and a series of other applications.

The STAMPED WEDGE WIRE AND THE WELDED WEDGE WIRE types of filters and screens from VIBROTEX, compared to wire mesh screens, or perforated plates, are very efficient owing to the construction characteristics of their profiles that, being trapezoidal shaped, enable the particles to pass easily through the screen, avoiding blockage of the openings and offering excellent results in: sieving; Drainage; Classification; and in the retention of solids.

The basic difference between the STAMPED WIRE and the WELDED WEDGE WIRE types are the following:

	STAMPED WEDGE WIRE – Delivers excellent mechanical resistance with maximum useful surface. They are manufactured from rounded wires that undergo a continuous stamping process, resulting in a trapezoidal profile, and also in laced joints where the axes pass through which tie the profiles, making the screen. This process allows the manufacturing of the STAMPED WEDGE WIRE with precise slots from 0,050mm (50 MICRONS).
	WELDED WEDGE WIRE – offer low initial cost with greater benefits. They are manufactured from rounded wires that undergo a continuous process of cold-rolling from where the trapezoidal-shaped profile results. This profile is firmly bonded with the supporting small rods through a welding process called electrofusion, forming the panel of screens.
